It is likely that you will be admitted to the facility at that time.  If that is not possible, the intake coordinator will help you  find the assistance that you need.

Things to  expect in the Treatment for Alcoholism

Focusing on yourself and your recovery is a very important element of treatment. While in an inpatient program you will be able to do just that, as you are no longer influenced by the people, places and things in your life.  Often these are the things that trigger your addictive behavior. During treatment there will be group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions with your alcohol counselor and education about addictions.  Sessions might also include inspirational speakers who know and understand the struggles you are facing.

Family counseling is also an important component of the treatment for alcoholism.  An ideal treatment program will offer addictions education to the family as well as the patient.  Your family might also be given valuable information on the many ways for them to best show their support to you while you are in treatment and beyond.

During this time, your family members may become aware of ways in which they are enabling your alcoholism and subsequent behavior.  While it may not seem like it at the time, this is a positive step in your recovery.  Family counseling might also reveal to you the ways in which your addiction has affected those that you love.  This might be the first time that you have been made aware of this fact.
